Our Location

Painswick Village

Approximately half way between Stroud and Gloucester, The Edgemoor Inn overlooks the beautiful, picturesque Painswick Valley and the village of Painswick, a quintessential English village known as 'The Queen of the Cotswolds'.

There are over 100 listed buildings in the village, which is a total conservation area.
It has a rich history with a particularly colourful period during the Civil War when the Roundheads took refuge in the parish church of St.Mary, which dates from the eleventh century.

Cotswold Way

The Edgemoor Inn lies midway along the Cotswold Way, which stretches from Chipping Campden in the north of the county to the city of Bath in the south.

The trail is approximately 100 miles long, and runs for most of its length on the Cotswold escarpment. With its picturesque villages in their yellow local stone, it is commonly thought to be the essentially English region.
